    A delightful and unique place to stop and have a bite to eat and cup of tea. Had a great time exploring the old school house, checking out the books on the desks and maps on the walls. You must end with the carrot cake. It is out of this world good!

    We go to The Hideaway quite often and have NEVER had a bad meal there. Hands down the best fish and chips we have ever had. Perfectly done with a light touch and hearty enough for my husband's big appetite. The chef seems never to have met a vegetable he didn't love... nothing soggy or overcooked in that department. The salads are great.. the Saturday prime rib bests anything in a bigger city. There is a creativity to the menu specials that makes you want to go back time and again The Northumberland beer is always cold. And the welcome is always friendly. The noise level can sometimes be a bit hard.. something about the acoustics of the room, I think. But heck, it is mostly people relaxing, laughing and talking.. how can that be bad. I wish they were open through the winter when we all need a bit of comfort food.. but we appreciate having them here.
